Problem
A national supermarket chain was feeling the effects of mismatched fixtures and poor lighting in its Massachusetts and Connecticut stores, resulting in growing customer dissatisfaction. In addition, inefficiencies in refrigeration were eating away at the company’s bottom line.
Solution
Our no-cost energy assessment led us to develop comprehensive proposals to improve energy efficiency. This included upgrades to lighting, signage, refrigeration, freezer doors and refrigeration curtains. We secured incentives and facilitated all the necessary paperwork for a turnkey process.
Results
We were able to reduce the chain’s carbon footprint and lower its operating and maintenance costs. The incentives we secured covered 53% of the project cost, and the company achieved savings of $35,000 a year.
